CAYAMBE

Cayambe is a city in the province of Pichincha. It is located to the north of Quito. It takes two hours to get to Cayambe from Quito. It is a great tourist place.

Cayambe has tourist places as:

First: The Lagoon of San Marcos is an excellent place where visitors can observe nature and beautiful landscapes. Tourists can also go fishing.
This place is to the east. It takes two hours from Cayambe on the way to La Chimba.
I recommend The Lagoon because it has excellent sites to camp and relax.


Second: Cayambe Snowy peak is a great place to visit. Here, visitors can climb or camp. However, it is very cold. For this, it is advisable to wear warm clothes. The glaciers of this region are nationally recognized by its exceptional beauty. It is part of the system of protected areas in the Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve. To reach the summit is recommended to prior acclimatize. From the refuge to the summit is estimated a walk of between six and seven hours of, you can climb all year, but we recommend the period between October and January.
The refuge is located to one hour east of Cayambe on the way to Juan Montalvo.
I recommend Cayambe Snowy Peak because is a very beautiful place to get good pictures and enjoy of spectacular views.


Third: The Bizcochos of San Pedro is an excellent place to enjoy to of traditional food as of the famous “bizcochos”, “queso de hoja” and “manjar de leche”. Bizcochos in this place are firewood baked and are the most delicious of the city. This place is on Olmedo and Bolivar streets.
I recommend this place because there you can enjoy of the originals bizcochos of Cayambe.
