MONTUFAR "City of Eternal Spring“



 Montufar offers wonders for locals and tourists. The capital San Gabriel, was declared by UNESCO on November 11, 1992 as National Heritage by the colonial facade of the buildings.

TOURIST PLACES MONTUFAR

CASCADA DE PALUZ

Paluz cascade, a waterfall that falls between two hills, is located 4 miles from San Gabriel, and 25 minutes north-west. It is approximately 25 meters waterfall formed in the river of the same name. The fall of the water rises in the great wilderness wetlands into small streams that flow into the Rio San Gabriel.

BOSQUE DE LOS ARRAYANES





It is unique in its kind in Ecuador and South America for its size and quality. The second in the other myrtle forest existing in Bariloche, Republic of Argentina. Its importance is twofold: botany and tourism.
Located in the community of Monteverde, San Gabriel. 11 km from there, we find the myrtle forest, this forest has an area of 16 hectares.

LAGUNA DE EL SALADO



It is only 4 kilometers from the city of San Gabriel Canton Montúfar. The average surface temperature is 12 degrees Celsius. Its shores are marshy in the south, while the rest of the surroundings are beautiful. This tourist site is 500 meters long by 200 meters wide with an area of 24 hectares.

Ibarra is a VERY BEAUTIFUL city located north of Ecuador. This city hasseveral interesting places tovisit such as:


Yaguarcocha lake, a place wherethe whole family canrelax, enjoy the landscape and food.


Another interesting place to visit is the caranqui museum located south of the city. Here we can observe a lot of the history of the cultures of the city.


And finally an exceptional place, la Loma de las Guayavillas, a place where we can enjoya beautiful landscape and nature around you, here is also an interesting animal rescue center.

Visited Ibarra City...!!!





PURUHUANTA




This lake is localated in Pimampiro Imbabura Province.


Is a beautiful lake and this place is visited for the foreign people in especial the USA, EUROPE and others countries.


In this place we can make a delicious picnic and many activities with our families.


Other thing very important is this lake is apt for swim the water is very quiet and clean.


The weather is very cold for this reason we can practice the fish, we can find the delicious truchas this fishes are very traditional in our province because there are very expensive, when you prepare this fish you can decorate the dish with potatoes and salad with tomatoes and onions.


Finally you can visit this place because you have a time for relax and think.



LA MERCED PARK



This park is localated in the center of the Ibarra city. In this park we can find the traditional nogadas and the arrope de moras. In the night we can find the traditional food for example papas con cuero, secos de chivo, guatita, secos de pollo, secos de carne.


This park was remodeled very years ago and now is visited for many tourist.


YAHUACOCHA LAKE





Is localated the north of Ibarra this lake is knowing how LAKE OF BLOOD because in his place there are battle between the caranquis and he soldiers.


This lake is visited for own and strangers, we can make sports for example parapets fish, learn to drive a car , other thing is that to eat a very delicious fish for example tilapias and the fish originally this lake other food is the traditional empanadas the cheese and the banana.


Finally is a place for relax and pass with the family in especial the Sundays.



LOMA DE GUAYABILLAS





This place is localated in the south of Ibarra in La Victoria town.


This place is beautiful because there are a Zoo so is how a watcher in where we see a all city , this place is visited for make a picnics for the ibarreñas families, the roads are very longer for this reasons we make a sports for example walk, bicycle, motocross, downhill etc.


Finally we learn to care the environment and the flora and fauna this place.


In conclusion Imbabura is a touristic province we can visit because there are hotels, restaurants parks, churches and the beautiful lakes.

ATUNTAQUI

"Atuntaqui is the smallest town but with the biggest heart of Ecuador."

FABRICA IMBABURA

This factory was founded on May 6, 1924, became the economic development of antonio ante.

Factory labor defense was born through the formation of unions who fought against the abuses and labor exploitation.

Imbabura the former factory soon will become a center-Tourism and Cultural Production, to boost the economy of the northern sector of the country.

In the former factory runs a textile museum area; rooms fairs, conferences and training, and the rest of Terrero enabled recreational spaces for the family, a craft and gastronomic area, and a parking area vehicles.

The former textile factory in 2001 Imbabura was declared National Cultural Heritage, considered unique industrial heritage features in the country.

It is open to the public Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 16:00, and admission is free. There, visitors will receive information about the town north of the country, while touring the factory premises to observe the conditions in which they were machines, production areas, spinning, material that was used for fabrics, offices, among others, when they closed their doors in 1967 and with it, 50 years of progress and economic development Atuntaqui.

PAILA TOLA

Paila tola is located in the city of Atuntaqui, to 2,407 meters in the province of Imbabura. Its north points to the city of Ibarra, the south ramp led to the city of Atuntaqui , in the neighborhood San Luis , look at the population Andrade Marín and the west side for the people of Imantag.

Paila tola it’s only in the world. It’s considered city’s cultural patrimony. From here you will see wonderful landscapes for example: Imbabura hill, Cotacachi hill and Natabuela city.

PARQUE LA FAMILIA

Parque la Familia is located in Antonio Ante, in city of Atuntaqui avenue Luis Leoro Franco, next to Redondel del Estudiante.

This Park represents a tourist place of the city specially on the weekends. In this park there is diverse games of attractive colors.

There you can play and ejoy the time with your family. It´s very funny.


TOURISTICS PLACES OF IBARRA

MIRA CITY





Mira Canton is located s to the southwest of the province of Carchi, nestled in a natural “mirador” known as the "Balcony of the Andes." Two roads provide access to this beautiful Canton:

By using the route Tulcán North - The Angel - Mira.

From the south using the route Ibarra – Mascarilla

Mira has a variety of microclimates, as its sloped floor ranges from 1000 to 3500 meters above the sea level, resulting in high temperatures, medium and low. The city of Mira has a pleasant climate that averages 18 º C as it is at 2,450 meters above the sea level and has an annual rainfall of 636 mm. resulting in a diverse agricultural production.

SANTUARIO DE LA VIRGEN DE LA CARIDAD


Located in the city of Mira, it is a colonial-style church built in the late fifteenth century. Its façade and towers were rebuilt in 1937, which consists of a single ship; in its altar is the image of the Blessed. Virgin de la Caridad, whose origin is not clearly established, but dates from about 1545, there's the Santa Custody gold-plated stone baptismal dates from 1597, the bell Colonial Governor Don Nycole time Narchyn Ynyra Lopes. There are also two magnificent paintings such as the painting of "The Souls" and "Divina Pastora" attributed to Luis Rivera, and other saints who are venerated in the church.

The distance from Mira is about 7 km. way to Ibarra and has a second access road in good order.

It has ecological cabins, swimming pool with pure water. It also has a restaurant, excellent dry warm climate, ecological crops, fishing, nature trails and horseback riding soon it will also have a climbing wall. It is a destination site for lovers of adventure tourism,.

San Antonio

Tourism in our parish is based especially on the skill and dexterity of “Sanantonenses Artisans”, who with natural resources create wonderful objects in wood, stone, copper, cement sculpture, finished in different applications of paint, and then exposed to domestic and foreign tourists. San Antonio has great scenic beauty, flora and fauna, in addition to its cultural and historic resources that are reflected in the artistic vocation-Craft of its inhabitants and the traditions and customs that are part of identity of the parish.



THE DAM

Source of Life.


The dam is a traditional place where there is a source of fresh water that comes from the rocks. It is drinkable water and it is also used for irrigation. It is also a major ecological area for the parish. You can also go for long walks, camping, adventure sports, are also possible.





PUCAHUAYCO

Spirituality & Culture

Their traditional customs are Dances of San Juan and San Pedro, new home and placement of the tile. Among typical foods are colada of maiz reventado with chicken
field, Champús,
mote, the bread baked in a wood oven.




In conclusion, San Antonio is a great place to visit and buy crafts and sculpture which are part of the culture and tradition of the town.
