Tulcan is a beautiful city, is located north of Ecuador and is the capital of Carchi which has several tourist attractions such as:

Cathedral Tulcán
It is a wonderful church has magnificent architectural images of artistic worth. It has an altar carved in gold which which is located off the main alter. The restoration ended in 2000.
The renovation of the Cathedral took a modernist style. The interior is romantic style with classical altars.

It catches a lot of attention of visitors to this cathedral. Its decoration, as the inner columns have capitals covered with grapes and acanthus leaves.
It also impress the arches and towers, the oculus (clock), the batteries after paired turrets and the baptismal font made in stone and wood.
Municipal Cemetery José Maria Franco Azael
Recognized by locals and foreigners, as a modern marvel. This "green Sculpture" is unique in its kind, was created by Mr. Azael Franco in 1936. Cypress Carvings make these wonders to the cemetery in a palace where art and beauty come together in harmony, and
lead to a unique spectacle worthy of being appreciated by tourists.
It has been called "Sculpture on Green" and there are no similar achievements else where in the world.
