BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN IBARRA (M.K.N)

YAHUARCOCHA

One of the main attractions of Ecuador, located 3 km from the city of Ibarra, at an altitude of 2190 meters over the sea level.

Yahuarcocha has historical significance because studies by some researchers who claim that there is a vast and still unexplored archaeological evidence, so the National Institute of Cultural Heritage declared as Yahuarcocha the third sacred lake in the country.

Yahuarcocha means "Lake of Blood," which derives from the Quechua roots Yaguar = blood and Cocha = lake. The Legend says there a bloody battle took place in their native shores and the lake was dyed with blood, hence its name.

Yahuarcocha has water surface of 257 hectareas with a perimeter of 7970m. waterway, a depth of 8m is considered eutrophic lake.

Now a day the lake has become a major tourist center in the province of Imbabura surrounded by natural viewpoints and an environment of indigenous crops and land.

LOMA DE GUAYABILLAS

La Loma is a protected forest Guayabillas 54, 1 acre, part of the natural and cultural identity of the city of Ibarra. It is considered one of the largest parks in Ecuador.

Located in the catchment basin of the River Valley Tahu and the countryside, offering visitors the chance to enjoy a panoramic view of the city towards the four cardinal points and meet the Center for Wildlife Management and shrubs Guayabillas that are unique exquisite fruit plants in the area.

La Loma de Guayabillas became a Natural Park in order to benefit and satisfy the needs of recreation and leisure of its inhabitants, becoming also a major local and international attraction.

In the park you can hike, bike, camp and enjoy a panoramic view of the Ibarra. This will allow visitors to share a clean, peaceful and quiet.

MIRADOR ARCANGEL SAN MIGUEL

The Archangel San Miguel is a good place to get a view of Ibarra and take beautiful photos of our amazing city. Is located in Alto de Reyes in the south east of the Ibarra.

Also you can see many wonderful place as Yahuarcocha and Guayabillas and you can have a great time with your family and your friends.
